Welcome to Starlings class. Starlings are taught by Mrs Martin on Monday – Wednesday, and Mrs Pywell on Thursday and Friday. Starlings are a kind and creative family who are excellent at working collaboratively to achieve their goals. You will often find us reading our favourite books, solving tricky maths challenges, singing and dancing to our top tunes, and creating artistic masterpieces. We love to celebrate all the ways in which our class members shine!

In Year 3/4, children should be beginning to read some longer and more demanding texts. To help your child to choose something to read that they will enjoy but that will also challenge them, we have created a list of 100 books to read in year 3/4. How many will you read?
New spellings will go home on a Friday after the test on the previous week’s spellings. The children will need their spelling books back in school on Mondays for their spelling lesson on the new spellings.
1 page of the maths homework book will be set each Friday and marked on the following Friday. We also expect children to access TTRS regularly please.
Later in the year (summer term) we are doing a longer text in English. To ensure we finish the book in the time we have available, we will send home 1-2 chapters per week for the children to read, along with some comprehension questions. This will be set on a Friday and be due back on a Monday.
