Homework is set every Friday and should be handed in on the following Wednesday. Children are encouraged to record their homework in their partnership books every week.
Weekly Homework:
Maths – all children are to complete one page of their Schofield and Sims Mental Arithmetic book each week. We also have two fantastic online maths programmes for children to access at home called Maths Shed and TT Rockstars. The children are encouraged to access the games on here regularly to practise their mental arithmetic and times tables skills.
Spelling – the children are expected to practise their spellings every week. Their spellings will be set for them to practise on the Spelling Shed website, which is a fantastic online learning platform. Please click on the logo below to access Spelling Shed. A list of the Year 5/6 Statutory spelling words can also be found below.
English – the children will also be given guided reading homework or spelling, punctuation and grammar practise on Spag.com each week. Please click on the link below to access Spag.com.
Children’s Mental Health Week is taking place on 1-7 February 2021. This year’s theme is Express Yourself. The charity Place2Be has worked with her Royal Highness and a range of celebrities to produce resources that can be used at home and at school. www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/
